Philippe Roux
IS Quality Manager
PIMKIE INTERNATIONAL
Brand present in 15 countries, Pimkie International has modernised its IS by integrating Visual TOM.
As part of a drive to incorporate new technologies into their business, Pimkie International chose Visual TOM to schedule their IT procedures under Unix and Windows NT environments. A common Job scheduler for all the new IS building blocks, Visual TOM industrialises operations from planning to application development.

During the model creation phase "Absyss' proposal was the best suited to the operating model that we submitted to the publishers. Moreover Visual TOM seemed to us to be the most flexible to implement and the quickest to learn to use, because of its graphical ergonomy. (…) Absyss' job scheduler is capable of scheduling 10,000 jobs and 2,000 batches on a daily basis, between the 21 Unix and Windows servers just bought by Pimkie in the context of its renovation programme. Two AS400s have also been migrated to administration under Visual TOM. (...)
Thanks to Visual TOM we have a very finely detailed, essentially event-based (80% of tasks), planning system which enables us to optimise our work organisation.
Visual TOM is used by the whole ITD to consult histories of executions and planning, each with direct access to the operations that they are concerned with. When problems arise, we can count on the high level responsiveness of the Absyss Hot Line: this publisher, thanks to its human size, gives us really personal attention"

Laurent Phalippou
Operation manager
of the Elior group
ELIOR
Major player in the European catering sector, ELIOR industrialises its IT production with Visual TOM.
Following the harmonisation of the salary management of its French employees (approximately 35,000), the Elior group wanted a scheduler to control its new application domain. Visual TOM now enables ELIOR to industrialise 1,700 processing tasks and flows between applications, including SAP R/3.

"Visual TOM met our requirements and constraints as standard – particularly with regard to the large number of distributed servers - and was also more up to date in technological terms, easier to implement and more economical to purchase. (...) And our chain development projects under Visual TOM (to model jobs) are all the more efficient because Absyss is a responsive, available and attentive publisher."

Eric Sches
Operation manager within Vallourec's ITD
VALLOUREC
Quoted on the stock exchange and present in 11 countries, the Vallourec group is specialised in the manufacture of seamless pipes for the mechanics, automobile, nuclear, oil and gas, and electrical production industries.
In the context of a project to reorganise into "market" dedicated subsidiaries supported by the deployment of SAP P/3, Vallourec selected the Visual TOM scheduler. Today, almost 6,000 processing tasks industrialise the most critical applications such as salary payment and industrial production of pipes on a daily basis.

"Visual TOM stood out from the rest with its emphasis on graphical ergonomy, which simplifies its use, particularly in the monitoring of the batch production plans that we aim to put in place. Its attractive purchase price also worked in its favour.
Today, the controllers, ten or so persons within the Operation team, are taking full advantage of its simplicity of use and of Visual TOM's centralised vision of the status of jobs in progress, which is also an indication of the health of the information system and allows real responsiveness: no anomaly can remain undetected for more than an hour.
We entered the CAC 40 two years ago. To respond to the new requirements in terms of monitoring, transparency of figures and flows to be guaranteed, we are currently industrialising all our processes, using SAP R/3. Visual TOM is also offering great support in this area, in the regular deployment of new processes industrialised by our Design Studies department, then in the everyday monitoring of the chains of processing tasks related to them. It is clearly a tool that we could no longer do without!"

Atos Worldline
ATOS WORLDWIDE
Atos Worldwide: Visual TOM at the heart of the stock exchange operation service offer.
Atos Worldline Financial Market (AWFM) has been putting its faith in Visual TOM for almost 10 years to provide its facilities management clients with the highest quality services in the processing of their stock exchange operations. The major benefits of Visual TOM: excellent IT production visibility and flexibility, representing more than 3,600 jobs on a daily basis.

"With its simple and intuitive graphic user interface, both in terms of design and control of our clients' production, Visual TOM from Absyss is already very attractive. Its capacity to supply an instantaneous, summarised and hierarchical display from a single point is an added asset. But we were above all won over by the possibility of intervening dynamically and at any given time on the production plans and of enriching them by the implementation of monitoring, transfer to emergency mode, stop/relaunch of components in a heterogeneous environment… A real advantage for monitoring and controlling the ever more rapid changes in our clients' information systems! (...)
Visual TOM helps us to control the scalability of the managed information systems of our clients and to offer them the level of service that they expect, and at the same time absorb increases in their activities: it has become an asset for our different business specialisms and our sales activities. Our loyalty to this scheduler, regularly upgraded to remain at the leading edge, is without doubt the best guarantee of our satisfaction."

Alain Balaguer
Systems Manager in Bouygues Telecom's IT department
BOUYGUES
Purchased by Bouygues Telecom in 1999, Visual TOM is part of the strategic foundations upon which the operator has built its success: 16,685 jobs are now processed by Visual TOM in the "nerve centre" of the ITD, to help offer services and a quality relationship to around 9.7 million customers.

"During a demonstration morning, one of Absyss' consultants implemented the entire automation of a business specialism's application, a task which required several weeks with the previous tool: we purchased Visual TOM, which was in fact less expensive, for this simplicity, which was exactly what our users were looking for. This simplicity also ensured increased productivity for the entire ITD! (...)
Today, with almost 17,000 jobs managed, Bouygues Telecom's ITD has reached the limits of the architecture of its Visual TOM solution, which is based on a proprietary database. Luckily, the proximity of our publisher, his attentiveness and the extremely friendly relations that he is able to create with his clients, without affecting its professionalism, mean that the answer to our problem is already ready in the next version that is now being finalised.
In complete discretion, Visual TOM is one of the foundation stones of Bouygues Telecom's sales development, and contributes to the performance and the quality of the information systems that create value for the business specialisms.
It will also be a foundation stone of its future, enabling the launch of new technically or commercially innovative offers."
